Your Home Away from Home

This is where you want to be after you have spent the day hunting mushrooms in the great northern woods, canoeing on the AuSable or Manistee Rivers, playing 18 holes of golf, fishing or just lying on the beach at beautiful Higgins Lake. You can come back and cook up your find of mushrooms over an open fire or fry them up on the gas grill to enjoy with your steak. We have a fire pit to cook over, gas grills and charcoal grills. This is one of the few places, maybe the only place in this area, that combines the fun of outdoor cooking like a camp ground with the comfort of a clean room. Each room has DirecTV with flatscreen HD television, in room ref, microwave and coffee maker. We are located 6 miles south of Grayling and 8 miles northwest of Roscommon. That puts us in the country where quiet is not required.

If you are coming north to enjoy recreational opportunities, visit the family, or if you are just passing through, we invite you to stop and stay with us at 9 Oaks Inn for one night, the weekend or even the week. Many guests have stated that we are “their home away from home."

After purchasing the property in 2007, we have made many improvements to make your stay more enjoyable and comfortable. All of the rooms have been completely remodeled and updated creating a pleasant atmosphere. Many things we have done you cannot see like the new well, new plumbing, electrical work etc.

While we have made great efforts to make your stay in our rooms as comfortable as possible, you will note that the building’s exterior appears much the same as when it was built 50 years ago. (This is for the benefit of the tax assessor!)

In addition to remodeling the rooms, we also have a nice backyard with a summer kitchen for your use at no additional cost. It is furnished with refrigerator, gas grill/griddle, charcoal grill, sink with cold and hot running water, picnic tables and a fire pit with wood ready to start a fire. With these backyard amenities, 9 Oaks Inn is an ideal location for small groups to gather for birthday parties, family reunions or just to enjoy the great outdoors.
